Life asks so much of women

“Do it all. Wake up at 5 AM. Workout. Drink a green smoothie. But also get enough protein. Take your vitamins. Walk your dog. But don’t forget your hat and sunscreen. Wouldn’t want any wrinkles. Get your steps in. Go to work. Smile. Run a business. Take care of the kids. Spend time with family. Don’t forget about your friends. Make the birthdays special. But above all, look effortlessly beautiful at all times.”

Care deeply.

Nurture endlessly.

Achieve, create, support, and adapt.

Carry invisible responsibilities… and do it with a smile on your face.

The pressure is too much. We are drawing that line in the sand. Enough is enough. It’s time to stop the nonsense.

For generations, women have been taught to pour themselves into the lives of others, often before they have been given the space to ask, What do I need? What do I feel? What kind of life do I want to create?

At Cup of Tea Psychotherapy, we believe therapy can be a space where you return to yourself.

We offer specialized therapy for women, including teen girls (12+), women (18+) and older women (60+), who are navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and reproductive mental health concerns.

We help women feel more confident in health, decisions, and relationships.

Feel at peace in body, mind, and soul.

Are you ready to leave all the things you think you should be behind, and finally live your healthiest and most authentic life, comfortable in your own skin?

are you the girl that…

✔is so tired of being “good”… the “good girl”, the “good sister”, the “good wife”, the “good employee”, craving space to just BE without pressure.

✔feels so anxious all the time but just can’t stop worrying… you worry about your relationship, how to get your protein in, and when to wash your hair.

✔struggles with body image… you’re tired of comparing yourself to impossible beauty standards, and just want to feel comfortable in your own skin.

✔is trying to figure out her career… you’ve worked hard, you’re not where you thought you’d be, and you’re tired of feeling stuck and burnt out.

✔drinks at night to cope with stress… it’s just a glass of wine, not “a problem,” but it’s becoming a pattern you don’t feel great about.

✔loses her temper with people she loves… you don’t want to yell, you don’t want to be that girl, and you’re ready to change it.

✔is wondering how to cope with ADHD… you want to get organized but you just can’t keep a routine or a clean space, let alone stay consistent with goals.

✔takes care of everyone but herself… you carry the load, you show up, and you’re exhausted from doing it all.

✔knows something needs to shift but doesn’t know where to start… life is “fine,” but not actually fine, and you’re ready for a real change.

✔wants to be a better partner, mother, friend, or woman… not perfect, not superhuman - just better than you’ve been feeling lately.

✔is overwhelmed by the pressure to “be a good mom”…you love your kids, but not the constant mom guilt and unsure how to make space for you

What is Therapy for Women?

Therapy is a space that belongs to you. There is nothing you have to talk about, and nothing you cannot talk about.

While healing is a deeply human experience, women often move through life carrying unique emotional, biological, relational, and societal experiences. Therapy for women recognizes these layers and creates room to explore them with care and compassion.

Therapy for women can be:

  • An act of choosing yourself after years of putting others first.

  • A place to explore what fills your cup, and gently notice what has been leaving you feeling depleted.

  • An opportunity to meet yourself with compassion instead of criticism.

  • A space to reconnect with your needs, your values, and the parts of yourself that may have been softened, silenced, or set aside along the way.

Our Approach

Our therapists use a holistic, integrative, and trauma-informed approach. This means we draw from different evidence-based therapies to meet you where you are, honour your pace, and recognize that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process.

When we work with women, we consider the biological and cultural realities that shape how stress, mood, and anxiety show up. Hormonal rhythms, including the menstrual cycle, can also play a meaningful role in how women feel day to day. We also acknowledge the added pressures many women face. For example,

  • Everchanging and impossible to achieve beauty standards that impact self‑esteem,

  • Unspoken expectations in marriages and families,

  • Disproportionate responsibility for household tasks and the mental load.

These dynamics can create frustration, exhaustion, and a sense of carrying more than others realize. Therapy is a space where we make sense of these patterns together, connecting the dots between lived experience, cultural context, and emotional wellbeing.

We also happily welcome conversations about culture, spirituality, religion, and identity when these are meaningful parts of your story.

We help women feel more confident in health, decisions, and relationships.

Feel at peace in body, mind, and soul.

Are you ready to leave all the things you think you should be behind, and finally live your healthiest and most authentic life, comfortable in your own skin?

Virtual or in person Therapy?

Support should fit into your life — not become another thing you struggle to make room for.

At Cup of Tea Psychotherapy, we offer both in-person and virtual therapy because we believe care should feel accessible, flexible, and comfortable.

Our cozy office is located in the Glebe neighbourhood of Ottawa, where you can step away from the pace of daily life and into a space designed for reflection and healing.

For those who prefer the comfort of home, virtual therapy allows you to connect with your therapist from anywhere in Ontario.

Whether you are sitting with a blanket on your couch, taking a quiet moment during your workday, or creating space for yourself while travelling within the province, therapy can meet you where you are.

Our services are available in both English and Français.
