Do you ever feel like you're carrying so much that you don't even know where to begin?

Have you ever wondered why you keep finding yourself in the same situations or reacting in ways you don't fully understand?

Do you spend so much time taking care of everyone else that you've lost touch with what you need?

Life can become overwhelming for many reasons. You may be navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, substance use, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Sometimes you know something isn't working, but you can't quite understand why. Therapy doesn't require you to have everything figured out before you begin. It simply asks that you come as you are.

I believe meaningful change begins with understanding. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to explore the experiences, relationships, and patterns that have shaped how they see themselves and the world around them. This may include exploring family dynamics, attachment, cultural expectations, or intergenerational patterns that continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others today. Every therapeutic relationship is different, and I believe therapy should reflect your unique story rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach.

As the daughter of immigrants, I understand that culture, family, and identity can profoundly shape how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I strive to offer culturally responsive care that honours each person's unique lived experience and welcomes clients from all backgrounds, identities, and relationship structures.

My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood. Together, we'll develop a deeper understanding of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck while finding ways to move forward that feel authentic and sustainable. I hope you'll leave therapy with greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in navigating life's challenges in a way that feels authentic to you.

Ingrid holds a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations and Spirituality, and a diploma in Community and Justice Services.

Her professional experience includes supporting individuals in a withdrawal management setting, where she worked alongside people navigating substance use and complex life circumstances. She also works in workplace harassment and violence resolution, helping individuals navigate conflict, repair communication, and foster psychologically safer workplaces.

In her clinical work, Ingrid supports adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, self-esteem difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and substance use. She is committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and collaborative care that recognizes the uniqueness of each client's lived experience.

More than just my work

After work, you can usually find me at the gym, out for a run, or spending time with my very enthusiastic sheepadoodle, Anakin, who isn't nearly as enthusiastic about running as I am.

I'm naturally curious and love learning. Whether it's reading, listening to podcasts, or falling down a rabbit hole on a topic that catches my interest, I'm always looking to learn something new.

I’m happiest with simple things: a good iced latte, time outdoors, trying new recipes, and finding small moments to slow down after a busy week.– – –

Did you know?

Your therapy sessions can be held in person or virtually from the comfort of your own home. At Cup of Tea Psychotherapy, we love this hybrid format.

It gives our clients flexibility to choose their preferred method of accessing therapy. Our office is located centrally in the Glebe neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario. Our virtual option allows clients to skip the commute and have their therapy sessions from home, from their office, or even while they might be traveling.

With our virtual services, we can provide therapy to anyone in the province of Ontario.

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves.”
