Words from Mackenzie…
Do you ever feel like you’re drowning in a never-ending list of things to do? You might know the logical next step but still feel frozen – stuck in a cycle of overthinking, self-doubt, and “what ifs,” while everything around you keeps piling up? It can feel like you’re spinning your tires, burnt out before you can even begin. Or no matter how much you do, it still never feels like enough.
Are you grieving a person or a part of your life that once felt certain, while trying to adjust to a world that now feels unfamiliar? Perhaps the emotions you’re carrying, whether anger, grief, shame, resentment, sadness, or fear, have started to feel increasingly heavy. Maybe you can’t quite name what you’re feeling at all, but you know something needs to shift.
In my practice, I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. In our work together, I provide an integrative and evidence-based approach that is tailored to best meet your unique needs and goals. I primarily draw from cognitive-behavioural, acceptance-based, and emotion-focused approaches, within a trauma and attachment informed framework. At the heart of my work is creating a space where you can feel truly heard, accepted, and supported as you navigate your own process of growth, healing, and self-discovery.
Therapy is a space devoted entirely to you, at your own pace. It’s an opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and gently explore what your mind and body have been trying to bring to the surface. As we navigate this process together, you’ll begin to build deeper self-awareness and a clearer understanding of how you relate to yourself and the world around you. Beyond insight, our work will focus on developing practical tools and strategies to help you meet life’s challenges with steadiness and intention, and to create a grounded, fulfilling life that feels authentically your own.
If you’re feeling ready to take the next step, or even if you’re unsure where to start, I welcome you to reach out for a free phone consultation.

Mackenzie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She works with individuals aged 18 and older, supporting clients experiencing stress, anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, self-criticism, grief, life transitions, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. Her approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), all within a trauma- and attachment-informed framework.
Mackenzie pursued her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa, where she received extensive training in a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques. She completed her clinical internship at Carleton University, providing psychotherapy to adults from diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns. This experience further refined her therapeutic skills and deepened her ability to meet clients with empathy, curiosity, and collaboration.
She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Neuroscience from Carleton University. Fascinated by the connection between brain and behaviour, Mackenzie’s academic background strengthens her understanding of how thoughts, emotions, and physiology interact to shape human experience. During her studies, she volunteered at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, where she gained valuable experience in an in-patient hospital setting and developed her ability to hold space for others through challenging circumstances.
Alongside her clinical work, Mackenzie has maintained several research positions and is passionate about advancing the field of mental health through producing and communicating research. She describes herself as a lifelong learner and continually integrates emerging evidence into her practice to provide the highest quality of care to her clients.
Mackenzie’s professional background spans mental health research, university counselling services, community mental health, and hospital-based settings. She is dedicated to co-creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and appreciated. Mackenzie values both reflection and action – working collaboratively with clients to make sense of their experiences while developing the skills and strategies needed to build a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and aligned with who they are.
“I believe that healing isn’t about becoming someone new – it’s about reconnecting with the parts of ourselves we’ve had to quiet down in order to get by.
Therapy, to me, is a space to come home to yourself with compassion and curiosity.
Outside of the office, I love finding little moments that make me feel connected to myself, others, and the world around me. Sometimes that’s through yoga or meditation; other times it’s through music, art, travel, or trying new foods. I’m happiest with a coffee in hand and my camera nearby, capturing the beauty in small moments. And if I’m not out exploring, I’m probably curled up rewatching the Harry Potter series for what has to be the thousandth time.”
